Dhadak – Janhnvi Kapoor’s Debut Movie
One of the tragic afterthoughts of the recent demise of the nation’s beloved actress and Bollywood icon Sridevi is that she would not be there to share the debut moments of her daughter. We are sure though that her blessings remain with Janhvi Kapoor as every movie buff is anxiously waiting her her new movie Dhadak. Jhanvi has captured the nation’s interest with her breathtaking beauty and everyone waits to see how she performs on the big screen.
Janhvi Kapoor was born on 7th March 1997. That makes her 21 as of March 2018. She was born in the Bollywood capital of India, Mumbai. She had her schooling in Dhirubhai Ambani International school and also studied at Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in Los Angeles, USA.
For her debut, it was Karan Johar, who is now becoming the go to man for debut for star kids, took her under his wing. Dhadak is a romantic drama set in Rajashtan. It’s a remake of blockbuster Marathi film Sairat (2016). It deals with social issues like castes and honor killing. Now, knowing the recent trend of controversies, one would expect that even this movie will face it’s share of hurdles.
Starring in Dhadak opposite Jhanvi is another youngster, Ishaan Khatter, brother of Shahid Kapoor and son of yesteryear actress Neelima Azeem. Ishan was born in November 1995 and that makes him roughly 23 years old. This is however, is not Ishan‘s debut. He has already worked in movies like Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi! (2005) and Udta Punjab (2016). What absolutely takes the cake is Beyond The Clouds directed by none other than Majid Majidi, one of the most well known filmmakers world wide. Beyond the Clouds is scheduled to release on 23 March 2018 in three languages. There is quite a chance that Ishan would be a known name world wide by the time Dhadak releases. Dhadak can definitely make use some publicity here.
Fun fact:Karan Johar and Shahshank Khaitan had banned phones on film sets after one of the films look was released online.
Dhadak is directed by Shashank Khaitan who also directed Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014) and Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017). Both the movies were produced by Karan Johar‘s Dharma Productions. He is also directing the upcoming Aashiqui 3. He is a master of the genre and is expected to deliver another masterpiece in Dhadak. Incidentally, he has also written the screenplay of Dhadak.
Fun fact: Ajay – Atul who created hit music for Marathi version Sairat 2016 and Manasu Mallige 2017 Kannada version composed music for the film.
