Happy Birthday Taylor Swift- The High Points of 2016
Taylor Swift took home three awards at the 2016 Grammys- defining the biggest moment of the year for her. The awards were for Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Music Video for “Bad Blood,” and the coveted Album of the Year for 1989.
She has done huge charitable donations this year which includes her $250,000 to help Kesha after her Dr Luke lawsuit and one million dollars to Louisiana flood victims among other donations.
She went bleach blonde for a few months for which she received a lot of praise. She revealed the look first on her Vogue cover and then in Coachella.
Taylor starred in an apple music commercial for a series of ads which got all of the attention for apple it was looking for.
Her breaking up with Calvin Harris was a major point this year. After more than a year of establishing themselves as one of music’s power couples Swift and Harris broke up.
Taylor had a brief romance with Tom Hiddleston. She was spotted kissing the Thor actor in Rhode Island. They both traveled to Europe and Australia together within the first month, but the romance died down after a few months.
Weeks after her breakup with Harris, Harris’ new song with Rihanna “This is what you came for” revealed the fact that Taylor had written the song under the name Nils Sjolberg, as she feared that having both of their names on the track would take away from the music. This story of her alias revealed was a shocker for her fans.
She got her own television show this year when AT&T announced that it will be unveiling a “new video experience” called Taylor Swift Now, which will feature 13 chapters of exclusive content.
She was named the highest paid musicians of 2016 landing on the top spot.
Last week, Taylor and Zayn Malik released a new song titled “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” from the upcoming Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack.
