Kung Fu Yoga – See Jackie Chan’s Kung Fu And Shilpa Shetty’s Yoga
Jackie Chan is in India for promotion of his upcoming Indo-China film Kung Fu Yoga. A multi-lingual action-adventure comedy with regular Jackie Chan spice with Indian actors like Amyra Dastur, Disha Patani and Sonu Sood. The 62 year old actor reached India at the early hours of January 23 where he got a grand welcome by his fans on his arrival. At the press conference the Kung Fu master Jackie Chan was welcomed by Yoga expert Shilpa Shetty and the fusion of talent displayed there was definitely a lot of fun to watch. The Oscar winner actor said “When I make a film, I don’t think about awards because people think I do cheap comedy action movies.”
The actor was witty in his comments. “No more action films; I want to do dancing, a love story,” Jackie said. “You know, 11 years ago, I tried to do Bollywood but it had very heavy drama and romance. I could not fit into it. But now, I think I can.” He added. He said he watched Sonu Sood’s movies after he was signed on. “I didn’t know who he was, so I saw who he was, what kind of characters he played,” Chan said.
Disha Patani also shed some light on Chan‘s personality which a few have seen. “He cares a lot for the environment. He hates it if someone wastes food. He doesn’t even like if someone is littering. He will go himself, take the bottles lying around and put it in the dustbin,” she said.
“He was like Santa Claus on set,” Disha adds. “He goes and feeds everyone from his own hands. He’ll give cookies, chocolates to whomsoever.”
The film is based on Jack (Jackie Chan), a renowned professor of archaeology at the Terracotta Warriors Museum in Xi’an, teams up with young Indian professor Ashmita and assistant Kyra to locate India’s lost Magadha treasure in Tibet.
Directed by Stanley Tong, Kung Fu Yoga is slated to release in the end of January, 2017 in India and China. The film is extensively shot in Jaipur and Iceland. Kung Fu Yoga is part of the three-film agreement signed between India and China during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to India.
This is not Jackie Chan’s first brush with Bollywood. For his 2005 film “The Myth”, he had cast Mallika Sherawat. The film went on to be a big success.
