Actress and a fashion icon Sonam Kapoor makes a very personal revelation in a special show that she was molested when she was younger. A promo of the said show, “The bollywood roundtable 2016”, hosted by film critic Rajeev Masnad was posted on YouTube where Vidya Balan, Anushka Sharma, Alia Bhatt, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kpoor, who have successfully delivered roles of substance this year, come together in a round table conversation.
The revelation by the 31 year old Sonam Kapoor, daughter of one of the most successful bollywood stars Anil Kapoor, seems to be a very personal one where she discusses having been sexually assaulted when younger which was very traumatizing for her. In the promo Vidya Balan responds to Sonam by saying, “It’s not her fault and that is the biggest thing a victim deals with”.
In the conversation Anushka Sharma recalls how, as a child, she would often be asked by her mother if she had ever been touched inappropriately. “I thought there was something wrong with my mother because obviously I had no idea what she was asking then,”says Anushka.
Some months ago, some intimate scenes from Radhika Apte’s film Parched were illegally released online. On which she reacts in the promo,”I have started questioning morality,”
23 year old actress Alia Bhatt’s statement in the promo is “We live in a bubble. Our reality is not reality.”

Two years ago, actress Kalki Koechlin went public about being sexually abused as a child. “For me, it’s not a one day headline, it’s something that’s a reality I have lived with for a long time. Many of us have gone through it and most of the people that I know, especially close friends of mine who are women, have gone through some form of CSA (child sexual abuse). It’s just so out there, so much of it that I think it’s not something that should be ignored,” Kalki had told NDTV in a 2014 interview.
The show is to be aired on CNN News18 on Saturday at 6 pm and Sunday at 8 pm.
