Priyanka Chopra Says Being Objectified is Part of Job, “I Don’t Get Offended”


Quantico star Priyanka Chopra, a global icon told the Cosmopolitan that she has no qualms in being objectified, as reported by the magazine. The 34 year old actor was recently named UNICEF Global Goodwill Ambassador.

Priyanka told the magazine in an interview that being objectified is “part of my job” and that she “doesn’t get offended by being called a sex symbol.” Priyanka, who once described her character in Baywatch as a ‘bombshell of a villain,” also added that looking “hot is not all you want to stand for.”

Priyanka told Cosmopolitan: “Yes, being objectified is part of my job. I don’t get offended by being called a sex symbol, because I’m an actress and it’s the nature of what I do. But I don’t think being a sex symbol is something you want to aim for. Of course you want to be hot, but that’s not all you want to stand for.”

In Quantico, she plays the main lead Alex Parish, which garnered her International fame. By now the actress has many achievements and recognition in her favor. Recently she acquired 55th spot in IMDB’s most popular celebrities list leaving Jennifer Aniston, Emma Watson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp, Scarlett Johanson and many others behind.  She is all set to make her debut in Hollywood films in Baywatch alongside Dwayne Johnson.

At home front, she will be doing two bollywood movies next year, as she has promised her fans. A few days back she shot for an episode of Karan Johar‘s chat show Koffee with Karan where she opened up about her brush with racism in US.

While filming for Quantico in New York, Priyanka also produced Marathi film Ventilator and Punjabi film Sarvann through her Purple Pebble Pictures.
