Sridevi pays special tribute to Jayalalitha
The top most actress of her time who ruled over the industry for more than a decade, Sridevi, paid a special tribute to iconic figure and a leading actress of her time in tamil cinema, Jayalalitha, yesterday.
jayalalitha who rose to popularity and was addressed as “Amma”, passed away in a chennai hospital at the age of 68. She had starred in over 140 films and was a popular leading actress in her past before entering politics. Sridevi began her career in south films before moving to Bollywood. She had started her career in Tamil movies at the age of four.
Sridevi yesterday shared a picture on social media of the 1971 film Aathi Parashakthi, in which Jayalalitha played the lead role of Goddess Sakthi, opposite Gemini Ganeshan as Lord Shiva. Sridevi, played the role of Lord Murugan in the same film. In the picture a child Sridevi is seen sitting on the of lap of Jayalalitha..
Now 53, Sridevi recalled Jayalalithaa as “articulate, dignified, cultured and caring.”
